My wife and I have our own SMSF and are looking to start trading in both local AND international stocks in the near future.
We have had a real problem locating a quality and caring broker to help us get going, and who has experience with most of the international exchanges, especially those in the “emerging markets,” where we wish to invest a fair portion of our money.
Whilst we are new to share trading, we do not seek any investment advice, just someone who can open a local and international account in the name of our SMSF and provide us with basic information on how to conduct our trades thereafter.
A: This is a really good question.
While I am sure that there are some terrific private brokers who can help, I would be inclined to contact either CommSec or Etrade.
Both offer international share trading accounts.
CommSec has both an online platform, and a dedicated international share trading team that operates overnight until the close of trading on Wall Street.
