Hi Paul, I know you have written in the past about how to determine if a LIC is trading at a premium or discount, but I forget. Could you tell me if WAM is trading at a discount and also, have you heard anything about the stock that could be helpful?
A: Sorry – WAM are very slow in publishing their NTA.
They will probably publish their NTA as at 31 October by the end of this week.
There is no easy way to establish the premium/discount intra-month for specialist LICs like WAM.
Unfortunately, all you can do is take the end of month NTA, and compare it to the end of month ASX trading price.
For broad based LICs, you can however make a pretty informend intra-month estimate.
My guess for WAM would be a small premium.
