How much can I contribute?

Please let me know how much me, a 65 year old who continues to work more than 80 hours a month, can contribute to my Super Fund? I have not made any contributions for 3 years.

A: To qualify for the ‘non-concessional’ bring forward rule, you must be 64 years of age or younger as at 1 July of the financial year.

As you are meeting the work test, the contributions you can make are:

a) Concessional contributions (employer, salary sacrifice or self-employed for which you claim a tax deduction) – up to the cap of $25,000; and

b) Non-concessional contributions (your own money) – up to the cap of $150,000.

I trust this answers your question.
