Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Wednesday, Dec 3:

AGO – ATLAS IRON – down one cent, or 5.7 per cent, at 16.5 cents

Atlas Iron has reduced the size of its board and cut pay for the remaining directors to help reduce costs amid weak iron ore prices.

CSL – CSL – up $1.48, or 1.8 per cent, at $84.63

The Italian Pharmaceutical Agency says it has now been notified of 19 deaths among people who had recently taken a flu vaccine from Novartis, a business CSL has agreed to buy, but initial testing has ruled out contamination of two batches of the drug.

QAN – QANTAS – down six cents, or three per cent, at $1.95

VAH – VIRGIN AUSTRALIA – up half a cent, or 1.2 per cent, at 41.5 cents

Qantas and Virgin Australia have no plans to cut fuel surcharges, and argue a slide in oil prices haven’t actually saved them much.

VET – VOCATION – in a trading halt at 50 cents

Shares in Vocation have been placed in trading halt as the education and training group carries out a review of its finances.
