Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Tuesday:

BKI – BKI INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD – up 1.5 cents at $1.21

BKI Investment Company says it expects higher dividends from its investments in next month’s corporate reporting season and further improvement into 2012.

DJW – DJERRIWARRH INVESTMENTS LTD – up four cents at $3.90

Djerriwarrh Investments has more than doubled its annual net profit, but expects a mixed performance from corporate Australia when listed companies report earnings next month

DJS – DAVID JONES LTD – steady at $3.15

MYR – MYER HOLDINGS LTD – down four cents at $2.39

JBH – JB HI-FI LTD – down 30 cents at $15.10

Some retail shares continue to suffer after David Jones blamed plunging consumer confidence and carbon tax fears for rich shoppers deserting the department store chain.

FFF – FIRSTFOLIO LTD – down 0.1 cent at 5.3 cents

Listed mortgage provider Firstfolio is set to enter the non-bank mortgage lending market by taking a controlling interest in Calibre Financial Services Pty Ltd.

NWH – NRW HOLDINGS LTD – down two cents at $2.75

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP LTD – down one cent at $6.40

Civil and mining services provider NRW Holdings has won a further $112 million contract with Fortescue Metals Group, to provide work for the miner’s expansion.

NWS – NEWS CORPORATION – down 61 cents at $14.16

NWSLV – NEWS CORPORATION NON-VOTING – down 56 cents at $13.76

Investors have again pummelled News Corporation, sending the global media giant’s share price to fresh two-year lows as UK police made more arrests over the phone hacking scandal.

SDL – SUNDANCE RESOURCES LTD – up nine cents at 49 cents

Shares in Sundance Resources jumped 15 per cent after the Africa-focused iron ore miner received a takeover offer, valuing it at $1.44 billion.

ESG – EASTERN STAR GAS – up 24.5 cents at 84 cents

STO – SANTOS LTD – down 49 cents at $12.74

Santos will buy the majority of Eastern Star Gas’s coal seam gas permits in a deal worth $924 million.

WES – WESFARMERS LTD – down 23 cents at $30.14

Wesfarmers is to sell its remote power generation business enGen to Energy Developments for $101 million.
