Aust shares start the day lower

The Australian share market has opened more than a quarter of a per cent lower.

At 1010 AEDT on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 14.7 points, or 0.27 per cent, at 5,342.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 14.8 points, or 0.28 per cent, at 5,343.2.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was down eight points at 5,318, with 3,203 contracts traded.
