Aust shares edge lower

The Australian share market has opened slightly lower, with losses in the financial and industrial sectors offsetting gains by resources companies.

At 1016 AEDT on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 2.3 points, or 0.05 per cent, at 4,632.9, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 1.1 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 4,644.5.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was down four points at 4,609 with 978 contracts traded.
