Aust shares close lower

The share market has fallen to its lowest closing level since February as plunging commodities prices weigh on the energy and resources sectors.

At the close on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 33.8 points, or 0.65 per cent, at 5,152.3, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 33.6 points, or 0.65 per cent, at 5,131, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 23 points lower at 5,154, with 106,000 contracts traded.
