Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, weighed down by the big miners and banks.

At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 33.5 points, or 0.62 per cent, lower at 5,335.3, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 31.8 points, or 0.59 per cent, at 5,313.6, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 32 points lower at 5,340, with 24,769 contracts traded.
