Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at noon on Thursday:

FNP – FREEDOM NUTRITIONAL PRODUCTS LTD – untraded at 34 cents

Australia’s Freedom Foods Group says it wants to exercise an option to take a further 18.7 million fully-paid ordinary shares in Auckland-based dairy company A2 Corporation Ltd.

GBG – GINDALBIE METALS LTD – up 5.5 cents, or 7.5 per cent, at 78.5 cents

Gindalbie Metals has completed the institutional component of its new share sale.

NCM – NEWCREST MINING LTD – up 20 cents at $41.01

Newcrest Mining has posted a 16 per cent rise in gold production in the fourth quarter, and annual production in line with earlier guidance by the company.

NWS – NEWS CORPORATION – up 28 cents, or 1.8 per cent, at $15.52

NWSLV – NEWS CORPORATION NON-VOTING – up 26 cents, or 1.8 per cent, at $15.01

Two former Victorian supreme court judges have been appointed to assess an internal review of News Corporation’s Australian arm.

RSG – RESOLUTE MINING LTD – down five cents, or 3.6 per cent, at $1.34

Resolute Mining’s full year production has declined six per cent to 330,859 ounces of gold.

SFH – SPECIALTY FASHION GROUP LTD – steady at 81 cents

Specialty Fashion opens on Thursday a La Senza branded store in the refurbished Westfield Shopping Centre in Sydney city.

STO – SANTOS LTD – up nine cents at $13.44

Santos says it churned out eight per cent more energy product in the second quarter of calendar 2011, although production is down five per cent on a year to date basis.
