AGL – hold or sell

We are retired and in receipt of the aged pension.

I feel that my holding in AGL has ran it’s race and while it is fairly well priced, I may sell and replace with Aristocrat.

Your thoughts?

The other question is, with the probable Labour win – Would you suggest that for a person in a position of not paying tax, to look at investing with a priority on companies paying franked dividends?

Costa Group (CGC) hold or sell?

What are your thoughts on CGC? Is it a hold or sell?

I am a big believer in agricultural stocks for the future and also the China theme. CGC also having a stake in fruit farms in China possibly gives it a foot in the door as far as trade goes?

Will banks consider moving dividend payments forward for the benefit of their Shareholders?

There is a considerable likelihood right now that imputation credits earned in a SMSF in pension phase after June 30 will be lost.

It is annoying that 3 of the banks pay their next dividends in the first week of July!!

Is there any way of encouraging those banks to pull forward into the last week of June this year for the benefit of some of their shareholders?

Thoughts on Syrah Resources (SYR)

I’m holding Syrah. I had read and believed the different broker opinions were really good and yet since I bought, they have come back around 30% especially in the last few days.

Thoughts on CIE – hold or sell?

1. With the past 18 to 24 months after reviewing positive assessments, our SMSF bought progressively into Contango (CIE) at an average of $0.951. We now hold 81,000 CIE currently priced around $0.75. Would you suggest holding or selling some or all of CIE.

2. In the present market situation how would you compare CIE with Magellan Finance (MFG) and WAM Research (WAX) each of which we also hold — and may be affected by a Labor government’s approach to franking credits. Should we reduce holdings in CIE, now or progressively when it strengthens, and buy more of either MFG or WAX.?

3. Grateful to have your advice.
