Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, July 30:

ALQ – ALS – up nine cents, or 1.7 per cent, at $5.31

ALS holds its annual general meeting on Thursday.

AMP – AMP – up 13 cents, or two per cent, at $6.52

AMP Bank has temporarily withdrawn from lending to property investors as banks and the industry regulator try to arrest investment loan growth.

BPT – BEACH ENERGY – up one cent, or 1.1 per cent, at 92 cents

Oil producer Beach Energy has increased fourth quarter production by eight per cent and boosted sales thanks to increased demand.

ERA – ENERGY RESOURCES OF AUSTRALIA – up 0.5 cents, or 1.4 per cent, at 36 cents

Energy Resources of Australia releases its half year results on Thursday.

GUD – GUD HOLDINGS – up 12 cents, or 1.4 per cent, at $8.46

GUD Holdings releases its full year results on Thursday.

MDC – MEDLAB CLINICAL LIMITED – up one cent, or 5.4 per cent, at 19.5 cents

Shares in MedLab Clinical Limited have surged after the nutritional pharmaceutical company announced it had won NSW government approval to conduct medicinal cannabis research.
